4:29 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 2) – Strike That 8/5 (2-star play)
A multiple winner in 2020 he has made just the three appearances since losing his rider in the Lafayette at Keeneland in November of that year. Two of those have come for current handler John W Sadler including when placing third in a four runner renewal of the the Grade 3 Kona Gold over six-and-a-half-furlongs here last April. Off the track since then he gets a marked drop in grade here and is taken to register a sixth career success.
5:31 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 4) – A Little Bit Crazy 6/5 (2-star play)
Demonstrated ability in a number of maiden special weight contests both on turf and the main track last year including when four-and-a-quarter-length second over six furlongs at Del Mar at the start of December. Below that form in two starts this time around including when ten lengths fifth in a $50,000 maiden claimer here last month. Further drop in grade is a positive and she is selected to break her maiden on her return to a mile.
7:07 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 7) – Manhatten Jungle 8/5 (2-star play)
Demonstrated good form in Europe last year including when runner-up in the six furlong Group 3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville in August. Joined the Michael W McCarthy barn following an eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in November and registered her first success for the stable when taking the Listed Sweet Life Stakes here last month. Had her rival here Ragtime Rose back in second that day and can provide Juan Hernandez with a winner here.
