Horse Racing picks for Saratoga race track on Friday, August 27: Mo Ready for more winning

Horse Racing on dirt at Santa Anita

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Saratoga race track. We have hit 32 winners in our last 69 races, profiting 59.1 units during this hot stretch. Let’s keep it rolling! Here are 4 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

4:29 pm Saratoga (Race 7) – Coffee Bar 5/1

Race 7 on Saratoga’s Travers Stakes warmup card is the $200,000 Fleet Indian Stakes for three-year-old fillies over a mile and an eighth and this one can go to Todd Pletcher’s Coffee Bar. Since winning her maiden at Aqueduct in January this filly has been knocking on the door in black type and allowance contests with three straight second-place finishes and after a good second here just a few weeks ago, this could be the time to catch her.

5:03 pm Saratoga (Race 8) – Mo Ready 6/1

Mo Ready has won twice at Saratoga and all looks set for a hat-trick of wins at this course in the $150,000 West Point Stakes, Race 8. This son of Uncle Mo broke his maiden over course and distance back in 2019 and has been in very good form as is shown with his latest outing where he finished a very good second behind Forty Under in an Allowance Optional Claimer at this track while recording his highest speed figure to date. He is drawn widest of all in stall eight but there could be some early scrimmaging among the main protagonists early on which could set this up nicely for him.

5:39 pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Joey Loose Lips 12/1

The $250,000 Albany Stakes is Race 9 at Saratoga and the horses at the top of the market may prove tough to beat but Joey Loose Lips can put up a bold showing from stall number seven. So far he has yet to finish out of the frame from three starts with his most recent run being his best to date which was a neck second behind Bingo John (who re-opposes here) in a $90,000 Allowance at this course. That is good form and it is worth siding with Michelle Gianguilio’s gelding as there could be plenty more improvement to come and he could easily hit the board at a price.

6:13 pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Chocolate Cookie 6/1

The penultimate race at Saratoga is the $150,000 Yaddo Handicap for the female division over a mile and a sixteenth on the turf and I like the chances of another Todd Pletcher trained horse, Chocolate Cookie. My feeling is that there could be more to come from this filly who has already won a maiden and an allowance race in her five-race career and if she can run close to her win at Belmont last October then she’ll go very close.
