1:05 pm ET Saratoga (Race 1) – Truancy 7/5 (2-star play)
This daughter of budget sire Run Away And Hide was a relatively inexpensive purchase at $50,000 as a yearling but her debut effort suggests that was money well spent with the filly finishing a good 3 3/4 lengths 2nd to Let Her Inspire U over 6 1/2 furlongs at Belmont Park.
Today’s step up in trip should prove no issue and having delivered some solid work since she is taken to get off the mark at the second time of asking.
2:45 pm ET Saratoga (Race 4) – Street Tsar 3/1 (2-star play)
Todd Pletcher’s charge takes the eye having made a winning debut when scoring by a nose in a 6-furlong maiden special weight at Belmont Park at the start of this month.
He raced in second in the early stages of that contest and, having led in the stretch to get the better of a number of more experienced rivals, the son of Street Boss is taken complete a double following a solid 50.20 4-furlong work at Monmouth Park.
5:34 pm ET Saratoga (Race 9) – Corniche 5/2 (2-star play)
Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Corniche looks up to delivering a victory dropping back in distance in his first start since that victory.
Unbeaten in 3 starts as a 2-year-old, the son of Quality Road made all the running for each of those victories including when seeing off today’s rival Pappacap in the Del Mar feature on his most recent outing. Take him to maintain his unbeaten record after joining the Todd Pletcher barn earlier this year.
