1:09 pm Saratoga (Race 2) – Caragate 9/5 (2-star play)
Caragate demonstrated good form since switching to allowance races from stakes company, finishing on the board twice and winning once from three starts since a last place finish in the Grade 3 Gazelle at Aqueduct in April. She also drew four-and-a-half-lengths clear of her rivals in a mile-and-one-eighth race here last month. With the drop in distance being no issue, she can complete a double at this track with jockey Javier Castellano. Castellano is looking to improve on a 20% strike-rate (19/93) at this meeting.
4:29 pm Saratoga (Race 7) – Charles Chrome 7/5 (2-star play)
He gets a welcome drop in grade to make his first start in open claiming company here, having followed up a fourth-place finish in a stakes race over a mile at Keeneland. He also finished in third place in an allowance optional claimer at Tampa Bay Downs in a five-length sixth, having raced from off the pace in a five-and-one-half-furlong allowance at Keeneland in April. Taken to score following a 50.11 four furlong breeze on the Belmont Park training track.
5:39 pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Busy Morning 2/1 (2-star play)
Shown good form in two starts to date debuting with a solid one-and-a-quarter-length third at Belmont Park back in May. Subsequently raced close to the speed prior to delivering a six length triumph in a similar event over six furlongs at the same venue the following month. Jockey Jose Lezcano, on board for both of those efforts, is again in the saddle and the daughter of War Dancer can record a first stakes success.
