Horse Racing picks for Saratoga race track on Wednesday, August 3: Heads Or Tails set for a good spin

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Wednesday, including at Saratoga race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time and we are up +284.16 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Saratoga.

4:29 pm ET Saratoga (Race 7) – Tiergan 8/5 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Saratoga is a $100,000 allowance optional claimer for New York state-breds over a mile on the dirt in which Michelle Gianguillio’s Tiergan is likely to prove very tough to beat.

This consistent gelding won his only start at this course which was in this grade at last year’s summer meet, and if he runs close to his top speed figure then they all have him to beat.

5:05 pm ET Saratoga (Race 8) – Buckingham Prince 4/1 (2-star play)

A field of 9 colts and geldings is set to line up for this $80,000 claiming contest over 7 furlongs and I like the chances of the colt in stall 3, Buckingham Prince, who recorded his highest speed figure to date when finishing 2nd at Churchill Downs last time out.

That effort was in this grade and he has more than enough ability to win this as he’s run some nice races in better company.

5:39 pm ET Saratoga (Race 9) – Angel Palm 5/2 (2-star play)

The penultimate race at Saratoga is a very competitive $120,000 allowance optional claiming event over a mile and 1/16th on the turf in which a case can be made for many but none more so than Brad Cox’s promising filly, Angel Palm.

This Juddmonte-owned daughter of Dark Angel is just coming to terms with the style of racing in the U.S. having previously been trained in Ireland, and if she can improve on her allowance win at Belmont Park 2 starts back then she should be involved at the finish.

6:13 pm ET Saratoga (Race 10) – Heads Or Tails 10/1 (1-star play)

It’s only a matter of time before Robert Klesaris’s Heads Or Tails wins another race and now could be that time as this $35,000 claimer looks there for the taking for this son of Goldencents.

His maiden claiming win at Aqueduct is good enough to have a say and this 3-year-old is still improving so can’t be counted out in the finale.
