Horse Racing picks for Tampa Bay Downs race track on Saturday, March 12: Take a walk down Bleecker Street
There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Tampa Bay Downs race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 249.95 units dating back to August 5.
Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
12:45 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 2) – Cajun Casanova 9/5
The winner of two of his four starts since a gelding operation the son of Cajun Breeze delivered an impressive three length victory in an allowance optional claimer over an extended six furlongs at this venue in January. Showed he can compete at a higher level when fourth in a stakes event over the same trip the following month and back down in grade is taken to help trainer Jose Delgado improve on his 19% strike-rate (11/57) at this meeting.
2:44 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 6) – Gina Romantica 9/5
Chad Brown can boast a 45% strike-rate (14/31) at this meeting and his newcomer is taken to make a winning debut. The Into Mischief filly was an expensive $1,025,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale back in 2020 and while she failed to see the track at two she has delivered some good works of late including a 49.80 three furlong breeze at the Payson Park Training Center a week ago. Can break her maiden at the first attempt.
3:14 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 7) – Bleecker Street 2/1
The winner of her first three starts the Quality Road filly maintained her unbeaten record when winning by one-and-a-half-lengths in the Grade 3 Endeavour Stakes over a mile-and-one-sixteenth here early last month. Had a number of today’s rivals behind her that day headed by runner-up Lady Speightspeare. With the extra sixteenth looking likely to suit racing from off the pace Chad Brown’s charge is taken to register her fifth career success with regular pilot Hector R Diaz up.
5:23 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 11) – Classic Causeway 8/5
An impressive maiden special weight winner at Saratoga on debut the selection delivered a third place finish in the Grade 1 Breeders Futurity over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Keeneland on his second outing. A second place finish in a Grade 2 contest followed while he showed his liking for this venue when winning by three-and-three-quarter-lengths in the Grade 3 Sam F Davis Stakes here last month. Likely to race close to the pace and is taken to enhance his Derby credentials.
