Horse Racing picks for Tampa Bay Downs race track on Wednesday, March 30: Obiwan can use the force

General view of horse connections looking on as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Tampa Bay Downs race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, and yesterday we gave 3 winners from 3 picks at Parx race track!

That sweep took us over the 300-unit mark in profit since August 5, with our record now standing at +300.45 units!

Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

2:58 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 6) – Its Over 5/2

Race 6 at Tampa Bay is a $25,000 Claiming event for 3-year-olds over 7 furlongs on the dirt and one who can go well is the gelding in stall 2, Its Over, who is a course winner and has been running well in this grade.

The Carlos Munoz-trained runner was a comfortable 4-length winner of a Maiden Claimer at the track in December and if he runs up to the standard of his 2nd place last time out, he should be in the mix.

3:20 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 7) – Obiwan 8/1

Race 7 at Tampa Bay is a competitive $26,500 Starter Allowance for older horses and I like Obiwan, who finished 3rd in a similar race last time out. He should be suited by this extra half-furlong in trip.

This gelding was staying on all the way to the line over a mile on that occasion and if jockey Pablo Morales can weave his way through from the rear then the pair should be finishing best of all.

3:50 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 8) – J D’s Vista 8/1

The penultimate race at Tampa Bay is a low-grade $16,000 Claimer for the female division over 6 furlongs on the dirt and J D’s Vista, who broke her maiden tag at the 15th time of asking last time out, can follow up for Peter Wasiluk Jr. and his team.

That victory was a comfortable 2 3/4-length win in Maiden Claiming company and she didn’t have it all her own way either as she had to come 5 wide, but now that she has that confidence from winning, she can follow up.

4:20 pm Tampa Bay Downs (Race 9) – Zerenia 4/1

Zerenia is a daughter of Tiznow who we have not yet seen the best of, and this 5-year-old mare is the selection in the finale.

This is an open $23,000 Claimer over a mile on the turf and this mare won 2 similar contests at the end of last year, so if she turns up in a similar mood then she could take the spoils again.
