Sunday Night Football in Week 3 of the NFL season pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the New York Giants. It’s pretty much a must-win situation for both teams, as they find themselves winless at 0-2. New York comes back home following road losses to Washington and Dallas. Kansas City opened with a loss to the Chargers in Brazil before falling to Philadelphia at home.
Here is my Same Game Parlay for the festivities, which get underway at 8:20 pm ET on NBC. Also be sure to check out our full Chiefs vs Giants predictions.
Giants +6 (-108)
Tyrone Tracy Jr. Over 28.5 rushing yards (-112)
Hollywood Brown to record 80+ receiving yards (+280)
Parlay odds: +950
Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as New York running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. racking up a fair share of yards would obviously work well with a Giants cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Kansas City receiver Hollywood Brown to have a big day at the office. But even if he does, there is no reason why the home team can’t be competitive. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.
Giants +6 (-108)
Yes, it’s hard to imagine the Chiefs being 0-3. Of course, at no point during the Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes era had Kansas City even been 0-2. If they can lose 2 in a row to begin the season, what’s to say that they can’t lose 3 straight? And we don’t even need the Giant to win outright; they just have to keep it within a touchdown. That should not be too much to ask considering that they are playing at home and facing a Kansas City club that does not look like the dynasty of yesteryear. With the Chiefs struggling on offense, the Giants may not have to put up a huge number to keep this game close. Russell Wilson and company should at least be able to find some success this week following their exploits against the Cowboys during a 40-37 overtime loss. Wilson completed 30 of 41 attempts for 450 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Star wideout Malik Nabers finished with 167 receiving yards and 2 scores. On the other side of the ball, New York boasts a good enough front 7 to give a vulnerable K.C. offensive line problems. The Chiefs have already surrendered 4 sacks and 18 quarterback hits. Let’s back the G-Men to make this game interesting.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. Over 28.5 rushing yards (-112)
As we saw last week against the Cowboys, the Giants’ defense is mediocre at best. Their best defense against Mahomes and company may simply be to keep them off the field as long as possible. That means it would be in New York’s best interest to keep the football on the ground all day long and milk the clock. A steady diet of Tracy and Cam Skattebo can be expected. Through 2 outings, Tracy has gotten 15 carries to Skattebo’s 13. Neither has done much of anything; aside from a 24-yard gain, Skattebo has been completely bottled up on the early stages of his career. TTJ at least has some experience after churning out 839 rushing yards as a rookie in 2024. Look for him to get plenty of work on Sunday night, using his opportunities to exceed a modest 28.5 number.
Hollywood Brown to record 80+ receiving yards (+280)
Like the case with Tracy, sheer volume alone should result in a productive evening for Brown. Rashee Rice is still suspended and Xavier Worthy has been ruled out due to injury, so Brown is the only everyday starter at receiver who is active for this contest. Given that tight end Travis Kelce appears to be well past his prime, Brown is without question Mahomes’ top target right now. The 28-year-old is playing like it, too. Through 2 games he has hauled in 15 of 21 targets for 129 yards. He now faces a New York defense that is #29 in the NFL against the pass at 277.5 yards per game.
