For the 2nd game in a row the Pistons are looking to avoid elimination as they host the Knicks in Game 6 of their 1st Round match-up. I picked Detroit to win Game 5, I also have a Money Line pick in my +321 odds Same Game Parlay bet below. DET Pistons ML (-118)

Cade Cunningham to record a Double-Double (-145)

Karl-Anthony Towns 2+ Made Threes (-164)

Same Game Parlay odds: +321

DET Pistons ML (-118)

We all remember the controversy in which Game 4 ended, all the pressure is now on New York as they look to close this thing out. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart both suffered minor knocks towards the end of Tuesday’s game, which means neither of them will be at 100% here. However, the good news for the Knicks is that they’ve won in 10 of their last 11 visits to Detroit and that’s something they’ll look to rely on going into Thursday’s game. The Pistons have led the Knicks in the 4th quarter of every single game of this series, but unlike in previous games they made sure they didn’t let that lead slip away.

Cade Cunningham came up big in crunch time, Ausar Thompson played his best postseason game ever with 22 points and veteran forward Tobias Harris had 17 and 8 rebounds while logging a team high 43 points. And that’s exactly the approach the Pistons need to have going into Game 5. Having played each other 9 times already this year, these two teams know each other pretty well, so it’s hard to expect any significant tactical changes from either coach. Game 6 will be all about energy and I expect the Pistons to have plenty of that after they gave themselves new life with Tuesday’s win. Little Caesars Arena was rocking in Games 3 and 4, the Pistons lost those two by a combined 3 points. This time it’ll be different. Emotions will run high; the crowd will carry them and I am convinced they’ll force a Game 7 here.

Cade Cunningham to record a Double-Double (-145)

Cade has delivered big time in this series, averaging 25.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game. He has been flirting with a triple-double in all but one of the games played so far, even notching one in the Game 4 loss at home. What I’m looking to get from him on Thursday is only a double-double which should be doable, he’s done it in 4 of the 5 games played so far, with the only time he didn’t do it coming in Game 5 where he still had a respectable 24-8-8 stat line. New York has been one of his favorite opponents this year, as they haven’t been able to figure him out on defense. His combination of size, speed, agility and vision gives him an edge over every single defender the Knicks throw at him. With Hart not being at 100% and Jalen Brunson just too small in front of him, I’m counting on Cade to have another memorable performance as the Pistons force Game 7 on Thursday.

Karl-Anthony Towns 2+ Made Threes (-164)

With a hobbled Jalen Brunson who tweaked his ankle towards the end of Game 5 and a injured Josh Hart who suffered a knock on his fist, the Knicks’ hopes of advancing on Thursday lie in the hands of Karl-Anthony Towns. So far, KAT has been able to deliver in these games at Detroit with two of his highest scoring outputs coming at Little Caesars Arena in Games 3 and 4. The three-ball was at 50% and 71.4% in those games, with a couple of deep bombs coming in crunch time to carry the Knicks to upset wins in both games. Despite a disappointing performance in Game 5 where he ended with just 17 points, Towns was still able to clear this line with 2 of 4 makes from downtown. He has now cleared this line in 3 consecutive games and I’m looking for him to stay hot in Thursday’s game as well. Detroit’s perimeter defense hasn’t been anything spectacular this year with opponents making 36.7% of shots against them, over the past 3 games in this series that number has gone up to 40%. KAT will deliver at least a pair of threes here, but it’ll be in a losing effort.
