A 12-game slate in the NBA on Wednesday night is headlined by a doubleheader on ESPN. After the New York Knicks host the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers will visit the Oklahoma City Thunder. The latter contest is a Western Conference showdown between 2 teams with high expectations in 2025-26. Even with LeBron James sidelined, Los Angeles is getting along nicely at 8-3. Oklahoma City is looking every bit like the defending NBA champion at 11-1. With Wednesday’s showdown set for 9:30 pm ET, it’s time to break down my Lakers vs Thunder Same Game Parlay at +477 odds, while you can also find out all our expert NBA picks for every game tonight.

LA Lakers +7.5 over OKC Thunder (-110)

Despite LeBron being on the shelf for the time being, Luka Doncic and company have been on fire in the early stages of 2025-26. They took a surprising loss to a depleted Atlanta squad this past weekend, but that was an aberration as opposed to the rule and it was followed by a routine 121-111 dub over Charlotte on Monday. Los Angeles is back on track heading into this huge matchup on Wednesday, and it’s one I actually think the underdogs could even win outright.

There is no denying that the Thunder are the best team in the NBA, but they are playing the second leg of a back-to-back situation after beating the Warriors on Tuesday. Their only loss so far this season? You guessed it – the last time they played a back-to-back (last Wednesday at Portland). While L.A. is without LeBron, keep in mind that OKC is down Jalen Williams, Luguentz Dort and Aaron Wiggins. Give me the Lakers to cover.

Under 230.5 (-110)

The under correlates nicely with a Lakers cover, because – even with Doncic and Reaves in fine form – I’m not sure they have the firepower to keep up with the Thunder in a shootout. Los Angeles is playing at the sixth-slowest pace in the league (102.5 possessions per game) and over the last 3 contests that number is down to fewer than 100 possessions per contest. With the Thunder playing their second game in as many nights, they may be content to play down to their opponent’s pace. OKC leads the entire NBA in scoring defense by a country mile (108.3 ppg), while L.A. has allowed no more than 116 points in 5 of its last 7 outings.

Austin Reaves over 2.5 made threes (-144)

Oklahoma City is the best defensive team in the association, but arguably its one weakness comes at the perimeter. The Thunder are giving up the fourth-most three-pointers per game in the NBA (14.9) on the seventh-highest shooting percentage from downtown (37.3). It’s safe to assume that Raves should be able to capitalize. The Oklahoma product is pouring in 30.1 ppg so far this season while draining 2.9 triples per game. He has attempted a ridiculous 24 threepointers in the last 2 contests alone; in fact, he has not forked up fewer than 8 threes in any of the last 6 games.
