With the regular season over, March Madness is right around the corner. It’s one of the best events in all of sports, and a godsend for bettors. The first weekend of the NCAA Tournament is especially fun to wager on, and as the tourney gets closer we’ll be bringing you everything you need to get ready. We’ll be taking a look at all of the teams one by one, and today we’re breaking down the top squad in the Big East, the Villanova Wildcats.

Villanova had been a one or two seed in four straight NCAA Tournaments, but after being a six seed last year they’re a five seed this time around. The big story around this team right now is the season-ending injury to Gillespie, the team’s second leading scorer. They finished the season by losing three of their last four, and a lot of people are taking Winthrop as a trendy upset pick against them in the first-round as a result. Without Gillespie in the fold, it’s hard to see them making a deep run, and the Sweet 16 may be their ceiling. Then again, it’s hard to ever really count out Wright.
