The 2 best words in sports are “Game 7” and today we get to witness a Game 7 in the ALCS between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. It has been an excellent series so far with each team proving they deserve to be on this stage. The winner of Monday night’s game advances to the World Series to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Let’s dive in and discuss our 1st inning predictions!

YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Toronto Blue Jays vs Seattle Mariners – YRFI (+102)

Odds available at FanDuel sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -105 odds.

The Seattle Mariners were unable to close out the ALCS Sunday night, losing by a 6-2 final score to the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto was able to keep their season alive by forcing a Game 7, setting up an intense matchup Monday night. The starting pitching matchup of George Kirby vs Shane Bieber is the matchup we saw in Game 3. Toronto won that game 13-4 behind a strong offensive outing. They were able to pounce on Kirby early and often as the right-hander allowed 8 earned runs in his 4 innings of work. We can expect a short leash for Kirby in this outing with an all hands on deck approach from the Mariners. That being said, I do expect the Blue Jays to hold an edge at the plate in the early innings tonight.

It was actually the Mariners that scored during the 1st inning of that Game 3 matchup, scoring 2 runs off Shane Bieber within the opening frame. Bieber followed that 1st inning up with 5 scoreless frames behind it, but it is at least comforting to know the Mariners are capable of getting to Bieber in this spot. It is always challenging for a pitcher to face an opposing lineup twice within a close proximity, and that is even more true when facing a quality lineup in this type of setting. Both lineups are capable of striking early with a long ball, and I lean towards the YRFI in this game given the current pricing.
