Major League Baseball playoff action rolls on with the final day of the NLCS on Tuesday, October 14. Following a very tense and low-scoring first game of the National League Championship Series between the Dodgers and Brewers, we have a high-profile NLCS Game 2 showdown between Los Angeles and Milwaukee in a game that should be dominated by pitching once again. While the Brewers have the home field advantage in this one, the Dodgers are certainly live given how their pitching performed in the series opener. However, we won’t be focusing on the side in this contest.

Even though this is the only game on the board on Tuesday, there is still a bet that we like in the YRFI/NRFI market, so let’s get into our best bet for a quick and simple first-inning wager in this Dodgers vs Brewers Game 2 matchup. You can also lock in our MLB picks for this matchup along with every game throughout the MLB playoffs.

YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Dodgers vs Brewers – NRFI (-140)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -150.

Both of these offenses are capable of creating havoc early on in this game, but that certainly wasn’t the case in Game 1 and I’ll be going back to the well in backing a scoreless opening frame in Game 2. The Dodgers just received a masterful performance from Blake Snell, as he faced the minimum through 8 innings of spotless work, allowing just 1 hit in the process and striking out 10 and not walking a single batter. Things won’t get any easier for the Milwaukee offense against Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is coming off his first poor outing in 2 months against the Phillies, in which he failed to record an out past the 4th innings. However, Yamamoto is still the ace of this elite pitching staff for a reason and he’s allowed just 4 runs over his last 28.2 innings pitched on the road. The Japanese right-hander should get off to another strong start in this one.

On the other side, the Brewers have found themselves in what is essentially a must-win situation, with Games 3 through 5 coming in Los Angeles later this week. Milwaukee will turn to its ace to get the job done, and that’s typically been a recipe for success, especially at home. Freddy Peralta didn’t have his best stuff in Game 4 against the Cubs in the Division Series, but the Brewers star is one of the best pitchers in the game for a reason. Peralta has allowed just 4 runs over his last 5 appearances at American Family Field, and I’m expecting that trend to continue in what should be a second straight contest that is dominated by pitching in this NLCS.
