The 2025 MLB postseason continues on Monday with games in both the ALDS and NLDS. Seattle is looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in Toronto, while the Brewers and Dodgers are set for the series opener in Milwaukee. The Pickswise team is on an 55-37-1 run in this MLB best bets series. Let’s build on that momentum and hopefully deliver some more winners today!

MLB best bet: Seattle Mariners vs Toronto Blue Jays Under 8 (-117)

The Mariners have played 6 games in these playoffs; 4 have been decided by scorelines of either 3-2 (3 times against Detroit) or 3-1 (Sunday’s series opener against Toronto). Yeah, 4 times in 6 games is definitely a trend that can’t be ignored. I think more of the same will continue given that Seattle has to face Trey Yesavage on Tuesday. Yesavage did not make his MLB debut until September, but early returns have been extremely encouraging. The 22-year-old compiled a 3.21 ERA in 3 regular-season starts, all of which the Blue Jays won. He then struck out 11 in Game 2 against the Yankees while firing 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball.
Seattle is countering with Logan Gilbert, who was 1 of 7 pitchers in a 15-inning Game 5 thriller against Detroit this past Friday. Gilbert worked 2.0 clean innings and threw 34 pitches. The 28-year-old previously started Game 3 of the ALDS, limiting the Tigers to 1 run in 6.0 innings while striking out 7 and walking none. This is nothing new for Gilbert, as he wrapped up the regular season by pitching to a 2.30 ERA in 5 September outings. The Mariners’ bullpen has been effective more the most part in these playoffs, too, so a dangerous Blue Jays lineup should be kept in check for a second consecutive contest.
MLB best bet: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers Under 7.5 (-102)

Pitching seems to rule the postseason, and so far this one is no exception. I’m rolling with the trend to continue in Game 1 of the NLCS and also backing the under. Blake Snell is toeing the rubber for Los Angeles, looking to build on a dominant start to his playoff campaign. In 2 combined efforts against Cincinnati and Philadelphia, the southpaw allowed just 2 runs in 13.0 innings while mowing down 18 batters. In his last 3 regular-season starts, Snell gave up only 1 run in 19.9 innings while compiling 28 strikeouts. Yep, he’s on fire right now. The 32-year-old now faces a Milwaukee lineup that generated a mere 6 total runs in its last 3 games against the Cubs in the NLDS.
The Brewers’ pitching lineup is undecided as of Monday morning, but I’m not overly concerned. A bullpen game would not necessarily be a bad thing for Milwaukee. It is sporting a 1.20 bullpen ERA through 30.0 innings in the playoffs. Although the Dodgers’ offense is obviously capable of heating up, they crossed the plate just 5, 4, 2 and 2 times in 4 NLDS games against the Phillies.
