The week in Major League Baseball wraps up with a full 15-game slate on Sunday. It features Red Sox vs Cubs, Giants vs Blue Jays, Yankees vs Braves, Astros vs Mariners and Brewers vs Dodgers. The Pickswise team has been in fine form so far this season. I’m 50-34-2 record so far in this best bets piece while going 4-for-9 on Same Game Parlays at +481, +632, +439 and +600 odds. Pickswise’s MLB handicapping team on the whole is 103-66-6 on their best bets. Let’s keep it going as we get into my MLB best bets of the day!
Also don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for Saturday’s slate.
MLB best bet: Philadelphia Phillies ML Los Angeles Angels (-178)

Philadelphia slugger Kyle Schwarber was the All-Star Game hero for the victorious National League squad and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Schwarber has begun the proverbial second half of the season with home runs in back-to-back games. On Saturday he went 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. That is a big reason why the Phillies were able to bounce back from a 6-5 loss in their series opener against the Angels with a 9-5 romp.
On the mound for Philly is Ranger Suarez, who comes in with a 7-3 record, 2.15 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. His team is 31-17 at home this season and 4-1 when Suarez toes the rubber at Citizens Bank Park. Even at a somewhat heavy -178 price, Philadelphia still has good value on the money line. I also like the -1.5 run line at +115, but it is a bit risky since the Phillies aren’t guaranteed a full 9 innings’ worth of at-bats as the home team.
MLB best bet: Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers Under 9 (-110)
Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing
Clayton Kershaw on the mound combined with a struggling L.A. offense points to another low-scoring affair overall for the Dodgers. So far this season the 37-year-old left-hander is 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA. Kershaw has been especially hot since a rough first outing of 2025, so he rolls into this series finale against the Brewers with a ton of confidence. He may not get much run support, however. Los Angeles has lost 9 of its last 11 games, got shut out on Friday and during a 7-game losing streak earlier this month scored a total of 9 runs in the first 6 contests of that stretch.
Kershaw’s last start came against Milwaukee and Jose Quintana’s last start came against L.A. Both were outstanding. Kershaw surrendered only 2 runs in 6.0 innings in a 3-1 Dodgers loss. One day later, Quintana fired 6.0 innings of 1-run baseball during a 3-2 Brewers win. Milwaukee is on a 9-game winning streak in which it has allowed 2 runs or fewer on 6 occasions. Getting the Over/Under at this number and price is a steal.
