MLB best bet: Baltimore Orioles ML over Texas Rangers (-130)

Odds available at bet365 at time of publishing

Patrick Corbin was an easy fade last week against Kansas City and I’m going right back to the well when the Texas left-hander faces Baltimore on Monday evening. Corbin, of course, has been an easy fade for many years. He has actually been decent this season (3.91 ERA, 1.25 WHIP), but the 35-year-old was one of Major League Baseball’s worst pitchers in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The 2025 sample size certainly isn’t big enough to confirm that Corbin has improved. Moreover, he has allowed 7 earned runs on 12 hits and 5 walks in his last 2 starts spanning 10.0 innings.

Colton Cowser and company should be able to capitalize. Cowser has hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games, with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs during this stretch. Trevor Rogers is taking the mound for Baltimore on Monday. In limited work, he has compiled a solid 3.12 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. Rogers probably doesn’t have to be lights out in this one because he figures to get plenty of run support from the Orioles’ lineup at the expense of Corbin.

MLB best bet: Milwaukee Brewers F5 -0.5 over Pittsburgh Pirates (-125)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Milwaukee has won 4 consecutive contests, scoring 8, 17, 9 and 9 runs in those 4 outings. Rhys Hoskins hit safely in all 4 while going deep twice; Christian Yelich has delivered 4 straight multi-hit performances and he has a 3-hit effort and a 4-hit effort in the last 6 games. The 33-year-old outfielder is simply on fire right now.

The Brewers’ bats should stay red hot since Pittsburgh is going with a bullpen day. Milwaukee has to face Paul Skenes in the series finale on Wednesday, but until then, the home team figures to cross the plate early and often. The Pirates’ relievers are not terrible, but they are in the bottom half of MLB in bullpen ERA. Milwaukee is sending Chad Patrick to the mound; he is sporting a 3.50 ERA with 76 strikeouts through 79.2 innings of his rookie campaign. Nobody on Pittsburgh’s roster has ever faced him, a situation that generally favors the pitcher. Milwaukee has every reason to lead after 5 innings today.
