The week in Major League Baseball continues with a full 15-game slate on Tuesday. It features Yankees vs Blue Jays, Padres vs Phillies, Brewers vs Mets and Giants vs Diamondbacks. The Pickswise team has been in fine form so far this season. I’m 44-32-2 record so far in this best bets piece while going 4-for-9 on Same Game Parlays at +481, +632, +439 and +600 odds and 7-3 on YRFI/NRFI picks. Pickswise’s MLB handicapping team on the whole is 81-59-6 on their best bets. Let’s keep it going as we get into my MLB best bets of the day! Also, don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for Tuesday’s slate after our experts went 62-30 for +46.6 units last week!
MLB best bet: New York Yankees F5 -0.5 over Toronto Blue Jays (-120)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Max Fried has been very profitable for me so far this season and I’m going right back to the well on Tuesday. In his first year with the Yankees, Fried is 10-2 with a 1.92 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 104 strikeouts compared to only 21 walks in 108.0 innings. Having just made the move to the American League, the Blue Jays do not have much familiarity with him. Nobody on Toronto’s active roster has more than 2 hits against him, and all of those batters have combined for a mere 2 extra-base hits (both doubles). Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 2-for-11 against the southpaw.
The story is a lot different for Kevin Gausman of the Blue Jays. Aaron Judge is 14-for-41 lifetime with 6 home runs and 9 walks; Paul Goldschmidt is 7-for-13 with a homer. Gausman’s ERA has climbed to a mediocre 4.21 in 2025 after compiling a 5.46 ERA in 5 June appearances. Given this starter mismatch, I will happily back the Bronx Bombers to be ahead after 5 innings.

MLB best bet: Texas Rangers -1.5 over Baltimore Orioles (+112)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
The Rangers have played an unbelievable 4 consecutive extra-inning games and 5 in their last 6 overall. So, why am I backing them to avoid another close contest and win by multiple runs on Tuesday? Well, the 1 exception during this 6-game stretch came when Jacob deGrom took the mound. Unsurprisingly, when that happened, Texas dominated Baltimore 7-0. A line of 7.0 innings pitched with no runs and only 1 hit allowed was nothing new for deGrom, who is 8-2 with a 2.08 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP and a 94-to-20 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 95.1 innings.
It’s a rematch on Tuesday with Brandon Young toeing the rubber for Baltimore. Young surrendered 4 earned runs in 4.0 innings to Texas last Wednesday and he comes in with a winless record (0-2) to go along with a 7.11 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. There is no need to overthink this one. Even as the home team, the Rangers should be able to do enough damage at the plate in 8 innings to cover the number. They have great value at plus-money odds on the -1.5 run line.
