MLB best bet: Atlanta Braves F5 -0.5 over New York Mets (-140)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing
The Braves will have to beat the Mets again – and again, and again and again – to get back in the National League East discussion (currently 12 games back), but they have to start somewhere. “Somewhere” may have been Tuesday’s comeback from 4-1 down with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning en route to a 5-4 victory in extras. Atlanta has now won 4 of its last 5 contests, while New York is mired in a season-long 4-game losing streak.
It won’t be easy for the Mets to recover – especially not with Chris Sale on the mound for the Braves. Sale (2.79 ERA) has been absolutely dominant over his past 5 stats. During this stretch he has allowed 4 runs in 33.0 innings while striking out 21 batters across his last 2 appearances. New York is countering with Paul Blackburn, who is saddled with a 6.75 ERA and 1.71 WHIP through 3 outings (9.1 innings). Atlanta has every reason to jump out to a quick lead, and the F5 line has better value compared to the overall money line since the Braves’ bullpen is bad and both Dylan Lee and Raisel Iglesias were used in high-leverage situations on Tuesday.

MLB best bet: Kansas City Royals ML over Texas Rangers (-120)
Odds available at bet365 at time of publishing
Patrick Corbin actually has decent numbers this season (3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP), but I have zero faith in him given his track record. Corbin was simply one of the worst pitchers in baseball in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. And – let’s be honest – he’s still bad. The left-hander has struck out only 49 batters to go along with 21 walks in 66.1 innings so far this year. He now faces a brutal matchup with this Kansas City lineup. Mark Canha is 13-for-29 lifetime against Corbin with 1 home run and 1 double; Jonathan India is 5-for-13 with a homer; Bobby Witt Jr. is 4-for-6 with a homer and a double.
Toeing the rubber for K.C. is Kris Bubic, who sports a 1.92 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Jonah Heim is the only player on Texas’ active roster with more than 1 hit all time off Bubic, and he has only 2. The left-hander boasts an incredible 1.48 ERA on the road compared to 2.43 at home, so I have no reservations about backing him in Arlington. All things considered, this is an outstanding spot for Kansas City.
