MLB best bet: San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks Under 9 (-105)

Justin Verlander has turned back the clock since a slow start to his 2025 campaign. The 42-year-old is looking like the Verlander of old. In his last 4 appearances, his worst stat line is 2 runs allowed in 6.0 innings. His other 3 starts during this stretch resulted in a combined 18.0 innings with only 1 run given up. The right-hander is simply in dominant form heading into a matchup with the Diamondbacks, whom he has faced once before this season. On May 12, Verlander surrendered just 2 runs in 6.0 innings in a 2-1 Arizona victory.
Brandon Pfaadt is more vulnerable, but there are 2 factors working in his favor. He is pitching at home and he is going up against a San Francisco lineup that has been struggling. The righty is 9-3 with a 3.50 ERA at Chase Field; he is 4-5 with a laughable 7.29 ERA on the road. Prior to Tuesday’s contest, the Giants had scored a mere 3 total runs in their last 2 outings – including just 1 in the series opener in Arizona. This is a good spot for Pfaadt to go toe-to-toe with Verlander in a pitchers’ duel.
MLB best bet: Atlanta Braves ML over Washington Nationals (-152)

His most recent effort notwithstanding, Hurston Waldrep generally gives Atlanta a great chance to win every time he takes the mound. In his first 7 starts of the 2025 campaign, Waldrep did not give up more than 2 runs a single time – and he held the opposition to 1 run or fewer on 6 of those occasions. The 23-year-old boasts an amazing 1.19 ERA and .207 opponent batting average in 4 appearances.
Washington is countering with Brandon Lord, whose ERA has ballooned from 3.26 to 4.21 over his past 5 outings. During this stretch the right-hander has allowed 18 runs (17 earned) in 24.1 innings. Lord has walked multiple batters in 6 of his last 8 appearances. All of this sets of very well for the Braves, who are going for a 4-game sweep. They took the first 3 contests of this series by a combined 22-6 margin, extending their overall winning streak to 4. The Nationals have dropped 6 of their last 8 overall.
