We have a loaded slate of MLB action this Friday with several enticing games from a betting perspective. This article covers our 2 favorite YRFI and NRFI prop bets for the September 19th slate of games. Let’s dive in, while you can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for EVERY GAME today.
YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Braves vs Tigers – YRFI (-115)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -120 odds.
Today’s game between the Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves features two starting pitchers with ERAs over 5. Charlie Morton is set to start this game for the Tigers, marking his 32nd appearance of the season overall. In his 139.1 innings of work, the right-hander has allowed a 1.54 WHIP and 5.56 ERA. His performance is certainly better than it was at the beginning of the season, but it can’t get much worse than how he began. Morton’s final start of August resulted in 5 earned runs and, so far in September, his 10.2 innings have resulted in 11 earned runs allowed. Now he faces a Braves offense that is capable of scratching across a first-inning run.
Bryce Elder is the scheduled starter for the Braves in this game, marking his 27th start of the season. If Atlanta had been competitive this season there is no way Elder would still be eating innings, as he has posted a 5.56 ERA in his 142.1 innings. Elder is in poor form, having allowed 13 base runners and 7 earned runs to the Houston Astros in his last appearance. Detroit is a quality lineup that is geared up for a postseason run, and I expect a run scored in the first inning of this game.

YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Red Sox vs Rays – NRFI (-135)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -140 odds.
I expect a scoreless first inning in Friday’s matchup between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays. Garret Crochet is set to start for the Red Sox, marking his 31st outing for Boston in his debut season with the team. Crochet has 191.1 innings under his belt, serving as a true workhorse for this Boston staff. His 240 strikeouts are accompanied by a 2.63 ERA, and Crochet will look to continue his success in this spot against a divisional rival Rays.
Drew Rasmussen is also having a very successful season despite his team not being postseason caliber in 2025. In his 144.2 innings of work, the right-hander has allowed just 1.00 walks and hits per inning pitched while maintaining a 2.74 ERA. He has allowed 3 earned runs during 5-inning appearances twice this month, but he is still in solid form for this matchup. My largest concern for this wager is that the game is located in a minor league park which tends to favor bats, but at current pricing with these pitchers on the mound, I find this play to be worth the price.
