Sunday baseball can result in watered-down lineups and key players resting, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find solid value in the betting markets. There are 2 NRFI best bets standing out to me this morning, so let’s dive in and discuss!
YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Rays vs Mariners – NRFI (-125)
Odds available at DraftKings sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -135 odds.
Adrian Houser had a surprisingly productive season for the Chicago White Sox in 2025, something that not many other White Sox players have the chance to say. Houser pitched 68.2 innings for the South Side Chicago team while posting a 2.10 ERA along the way. That production and his team-friendly contract caught the attention of Tampa Bay who acquired him at the trade deadline and immediately inserted him into their starting rotation. Houser struggled in his team debut, but I believe he is set up to succeed in his 2nd outing, at least through the first inning of play. Seattle is a powerful offense that added additional power sources to their lineup at the trade deadline, but Houser should survive the first inning in this spot if able to locate where he wants.
Bryan Woo had a poor start on July 30 on the road against the Athletics, allowing 4 home runs in that minor league ballpark to his divisional rival. He bounced back nicely in his last start against the White Sox, however, tossing 7 innings with just 1 earned run surrendered against the White Sox. Woo is generally dominant in his home park, and this season he has posted a 2.17 ERA in his 58 home innings of work. Tampa Bay traded away some pieces of their lineup at the trade deadline and are slightly watered down as a result. I look for Woo to come out firing and deliver a scoreless first inning for his club.
YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Mets vs Brewers – NRFI (-130)
Odds available at FanDuel sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -135 odds.
Sean Manaea had his season delayed by injury and didn’t make his season debut until the middle of July. He is still rounding into form and finding his groove, but I believe he can deliver a scoreless first inning for us against the Brewers on Sunday. Manaea has just 5 outings under his belt this season, combining for 23 innings of work. His first 4 starts each resulted in 1 earned run allowed, and I expect him to come out fired up for a playoff-caliber matchup with Milwaukee today.
The Brewers are starting Quinn Priester in Sunday’s matchup, and he enters this matchup in terrific form. The former Pirates prospect has found a rhythm and delivered solid production for this Brewers rotation of late. His last outing resulted in 7 innings of 1-run ball against the Braves and that was his 5th straight outing with 2 or fewer earned runs allowed. Priester doesn’t overwhelm the opposition with overpowering strikeout upside, but he has developed his secondary offerings during his team between Pittsburgh, Boston, and now Milwaukee, and I expect his strong stretch of play to continue.
