The MLB season continues on Sunday, and the 2025 campaign has already produced a lot of exciting action on the diamond. While there are plenty of ways to wager on all of the action this season, one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first inning — YRFI or NRFI. There is still value to be had in this market, so it’s no wonder that these bets have become very popular over time. If you don’t like sweating out your wagers for 3 hours, this one will take only about 15 minutes.
The NRFI/YRFI market has been profitable for our MLB handicapping team this season, so let’s keep that momentum going! Here is today’s MLB YRFI/NRFI best bet, and don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for EVERY GAME today.
YRFI/NRFI best bet: Dodgers vs Giants – NRFI (-130)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -140.
Our first best bet in the YRFI/NRFI market comes in San Francisco, where the Giants will host the Los Angeles Dodgers at Oracle Park. This has been a series defined by pitching in one way or another to this point, and I’m projecting a lower-scoring affair in Sunday’s series finale, particularly in the first few innings.
When the Dodgers send out Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound, good things are typically in store for Los Angeles. After all, Yamamoto has established himself as a dominant ace and has been largely excellent this season. Furthermore, Yamamoto is coming off arguably the worst outing of his season against the Brewers, where he allowed 3 earned runs and recorded just 2 outs on the road. With that in mind, it’s fair to suggest that we’ll get a bounce-back effort from the Dodgers top starter against a familiar opponent. Given that has enjoyed success against the Giants lineup in multiple previous meetings, I’m expecting another strong outing from Yamamoto on Sunday.
On the other side, Robbie Ray is getting the ball for San Francisco, and he’s been nearly as strong as Yamamoto this season. Ray is enjoying his time in a pitcher’s park, as he holds a 2.63 ERA, to go along with just 4 runs allowed over his last 3 outings. While the Dodgers lineup is as dangerous as any offense across baseball, Los Angeles has struggled at the plate of late, even in the victory on Sunday. All things considered, I’ll back the NRFI in this series finale.
