Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. The most festive month of the year begins this Monday as we open December with a 9-game slate in the Association. Prime Video will have a double-header starting at 7.30 pm ET between the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic, followed by the Phoenix Suns vs LA Lakers clash at 10 pm ET.

After doing a deep dive into Monday’s slate, I’ve come up with my two favorite bets for the action. Let’s take a look at my Best NBA player prop bets for Monday, December 1, while you can also find out our expert NBA picks for every game throughout the NBA season.

Best NBA player prop bet: Donovan Mitchell (CLE) to Score 30+ Points (+104)

It feels like whenever Donovan Mitchell plays the Indiana Pacers, he marks that game on his calendar for some reason. They are by far his favorite opponent, he has shown up big in numerous occasions against them. The last 15 meetings have seen him average 32.8 points per game, he’s scored 30+ in 11 of those games which is quite the stat going into Monday’s game.

Cleveland’s form has been all over the place lately, their recent run of 3 losses in a row has to end somewhere and the way they’ve been playing it might take a super heroic performance by Mitchell for that to happen. Indiana allows the 4th most points to opposing shooting guards and the 10th most points overall this season. I’m convinced Mitchell is in for a big performance here.

Best NBA player prop bet: Jalen Johnson (ATL) Over 1.5 Made Threes (+108)

What a season Jalen Johnson is having for the Atlanta Hawks. He is the early favorite to win the Most Improved Player award, at least in my book. His points per game average went up from 18.9 to 21.9 and the best part is his efficiency is also up by 4.4% from the field and a staggering 7.9% from three. With Trae Young being absent from the line-up due to injury, the ball has been spending a lot more time in Johnson’s hands and his assist numbers are also up from 5 per game last season to 7.3 this year.

After seeing him dominate the Philadelphia 76ers last night with 41 points, including 4 threes made on 8 attempts, it’s hard to not back him to do well on Monday against the Pistons. He’s cleared this line 9 times in 10 games, for a bet that’s cashing 90% of the time we are getting really solid odds. Detroit also allows the 3rd most threes to opposing Power Forwards this season, I feel very confident with this bet.
