As always, the NBA delivers a day packed full of action on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The 9-game slate will feature an early tipoff between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks; it will conclude with the Miami Heat visiting the Golden State Warriors. With both of the conference-leading teams in action, too, we should be in for a great day of matchups in the association.
You can find out our expert NBA picks for every game but first, let’s take a look at my best NBA player prop bets for Monday, January 19.
Best NBA player prop bet: Ivica Zubac (LAC) Under 28.5 points + rebounds (-106)
Ivica Zubac’s recent form does not suggest he is likely to stuff the stat sheet tonight, even against a lowly team like the Washington Wizards. He has started off this month averaging just 11.9 points per game, having scored 10 or fewer points in 4 of 7 contests. Zubac is simply not getting the opportunities to, having attempted 10 or more field goals just once during that stretch in a game that did not go to overtime. He has had similarly weak showing on the glass, too, grabbing 7 or fewer rebounds in 3 of those contests. Up against a floor spacing big in Alex Sarr, who also happens to be second in blocks per game this season, the Croat may struggle to make an impact.

NBA player prop pick: Victor Wembanyama (SA) Over 2.5 blocks (+122)
To get such value on the league’s best shot blocker should be hard to pass up. While he has not been smashing the over on this line much of late, his last game was the first in which he saw over 30 minutes of playing time since November. If he starts getting back to his usual playing time, the value on the blocks will certainly be there. He was also able to record 5 blocks when he last faced the Jazz, doing so in just 28 minutes. Jusuf Nurkic will probably try to out-muscle him down low, but Wembanyama is more than capable of impacting him with his length. Meanwhile, Kyle Filipowski does not have much in his arsenal to create space from such a defender. The Jazz are 28th in opponent blocks per game this season and will hate meeting the Frenchman in the paint tonight.

NBA player prop bet: Jalen Duren (DET) Over 10.5 rebounds (-114)
In 3 appearances against the Boston Celtics this season, Jalen Duren has been a dominant force on the glass. He already recorded 16 and 18-rebound games against them, and while his last game against them fell short of that, he has proven he can dominate them. His matchup will be Neemias Queta, who does little to space the floor. If the Pistons’ guards do a good job of fighting over screens, Duren should have great rebounding position throughout the night. The Pistons’ center also had a game a few nights back in which he recorded 18 rebounds in just 28 minutes of playing time against the Phoenix Suns. In a competitive game tonight, he should see his playing time soar to over 30 minutes — more than enough time for him to hit this over.
