There are 10 games on the NBA slate on Friday night, with 2 games nationally televised on NBA TV. The first of these contests involves the Oklahoma City Thunder looking to get back to their dominant displays when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies. That will be followed by the meeting between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks and Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers. You can find out our NBA picks for all of tonight’s matchups, but first, let’s dive into my best NBA player props for Friday’s action.
Bub Carrington (WSH) over 2.5 made threes (+122)
With CJ McCollum traded away and Trae Young not yet ready to take to the floor, Carlton ‘Bub’ Carrington should have a major role to play for the Washington Wizards tonight. One of the main ways he can influence this game is from deep. His three-point percentage this season is 42.6%, which is better than his shooting from the field. It is no surprise that over half of his attempts are from beyond the arc.
In his last game, he knocked down 5 shots from deep after playing for 40 minutes and seeing 10 of his 11 shots being three-pointers. His opponents are the Pelicans tonight, a team ranking 28th in opponent three-point attempts and 22nd in opponent three-point percentage over the last 10 games. If Carrington sees in the high 30’s in terms of minutes tonight, expect him to be the one damaging the Pelicans from deep.

Jamal Murray (DEN) under 27.5 points (-102)
With Nikola Jokic going down, many would have expected Jamal Murray to start going off offensively. Instead, he has been sharing the ball, having recorded a combined 33 assists over his last 2 games. In fact, over his last 6 games, Murray has gone over the 27-point mark just once. Tonight, he will be up against Dyson Daniels, one of the best on-ball defenders in the NBA.
With Young no longer on the Hawks roster serving as a defensive liability, there will be no easy matchup for Murray to hunt down. Kristaps Porzingis is making his way back to the lineup too, which will give the Hawks a terrific help defender to use on Murray’s drives. Expect him to have trouble finishing over the top of him. Over the last 10 games the Hawks are 7th in the league in opponent three-point percentage, so they should be able to take away that part of his game, too.

Steven Adams (HOU) over 9.5 rebounds (+116)
With Alperen Sengun out for the Houston Rockets, Steven Adams has stepped up as the team’s starting center. He has now seen 30 or more minutes of playing time in each of his last 2 games and has recorded 11 rebounds in both outings. On the season, he averages 8.6 rebounds in just 22.3 minutes of action, so if he continues to push past the 30-minute mark, he should continue to collect double-digit boards.
While his counterpart Donovan Clingan has shown the ability to space the floor of late, it is still a shot the Rockets would be happy to live with. Adams will instead drop back on pick-and-rolls, contesting shots and leaving him in great position to grab misses. The Rockets have ranked in the top 10 of the league in defensive rating over the last 10 games, so they should be well positioned to force plenty of missed shots.
