NBA Prop Bets Today: SGA and Wembanyama amongst best NBA Player Props for Thursday

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA has delivered night-over-night to start the season, with seemingly daily overtime games and game-winners. Tonight, the action will feature the 2 remaining undefeated teams in the Western Conference, as the Oklahoma City and San Antonio Spurs take to the floor against the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat, respectively. Let’s see what drama they will be able to deliver.

You can find all of our NBA previews here, but for now, check out my favorite player props for Thursday night below.

NBA player prop best bet: AJ Green (MIL) Over 2.5 made threes (+120)

To start the NBA season, AJ Green has cemented his place as one of the best shooters in the league. No player averaging at least 5 3-point attempts per game can get close to his efficiency of 59.1%. It has helped him hit the over on this line every one of his games so far. Those opportunities should keep coming against the Golden State Warriors. They will have issues dealing with the size of Giannis Antetokounmpo, which should lead to more players packing the paint while leaving Green to roam on the outside. The Greek Freak is in a passing mood of late and is on pace to have the best assist season of his career. If that continues tonight, expect Green to be the one benefiting and converting.

NBA player prop best bet: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) Under 33.5 points (-110)

Last year’s scoring leader Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has only hit 34 or more points twice this season. They were the opening 2 games of the season, both of which went to double overtime. He had over 45 minutes of playing time in both of those efforts, which he is unlikely to get here. Last season, the Thunder blew the Washington Wizards out in both games, and a similar outcome against the 1-3 team could really impact his ability to put up points here. Do not be surprised if he plays under 30 minutes in this one. He has also been less aggressive the last 3 games, attempting just 8 total free throws. If he continues that here, he will have issues hitting the over.

Best NBA player prop bet: Victor Wembanyama (SA) Over 1.5 made threes (-110)

In this 1 regular-season game against the Miami Heat last season, Victor Wembanyama put up 8 3-point attempts, knocking down 3 in the process. And while he has seen a drop in long-range shots this season, the Heat have the personnel to bring that side out of him. Bam Adebayo is a great on-ball defender and should have success limiting the Frenchman when driving the ball. Similarly, Kel’el Ware has the size and the quickness to be a factor, too. I am expecting the Frenchman to drop back further and be a threat from deep. It helps that the Heat are top of the league in pace of play, so there should be no shortage of possessions for Wembanyama to help make that happen.
