Nebraska vs Northwestern spread prediction: Northwestern +12 (-110)

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost starts the 2022 college football season firmly in the hot seat after a disappointing but unlucky campaign last year, where the Cornhuskers’ 9 losses all came by single digits. The Cornhuskers will be looking for a bounce-back season and will be excited to take on a Northwestern team that they hammered 56-7 last year. However, Wildcats quarterback Ryan Hilinski should be much-improved under center and is capable of keeping his team in the mix, especially in the opening game of the season. With this matchup taking place on a neutral site in a different country, both teams will be affected by the time difference which could also result in a close contest.

Nebraska vs Northwestern over/under prediction: Over 50.5 (-110)

These teams combined to score 63 points in last year’s matchup, with Nebraska contributing 56 themselves, and they should be able to kick off the 2022 college season with a bang. Northwestern’s offense was woeful last year but Hilinski has the potential to improve this year and help his team put up their share of the points. Only 5 starters return to these teams’ defenses, and while they look to gel the early advantage should go to the offenses. The Cornhuskers will have a new QB under center in Casey Thompson, who should be motivated to put on a show. Expect an explosive encounter in Ireland.
