We are just over 2 weeks away from the conclusion of the NHL regular season, and a lot of the playoff picture still needs figured out. Both conferences have playoff races going down to the wire, and Tuesday’s 10-game slate is sure to be interesting from start to finish.
If you will be tuning in and want to have some action on this jam-packed evening of hockey, I have picked out my three NHL best bets for Saturday with lines and odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Furthermore, don’t forget to check out all of our NHL predictions for every game throughout the season, including all 10 matchups today.
NHL best bet: Red Wings ML over Penguins (-115)
In what is a huge game for their playoff chances, the Red Wings are fortunate to have a significant scheduling advantage in Tuesday night’s matchup against the Penguins. Detroit hasn’t played since Saturday, giving them multiple days of rest between games. On the other side, the Penguins played last night against the Islanders, and this will be Pittsburgh’s 3rd game in 4 nights.
The Penguins beat the Islanders convincingly by a score of 8-3, but they have won back-to-back games just once since the Olympic break. The Red Wings should also have a heightened sense of urgency in this one, as they are fighting for their playoff lives. They’ve stumbled lately, dropping 3 of their last 4 games, and winning this game could go a long way in their hopes to make the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons. With that in mind, look for Detroit to come out aggressive in order to put the pressure on Pittsburgh early. It’s vital that the Red Wings use their rest to their advantage, and I believe they’ll get it done.

NHL best bet: Canadiens vs Lightning Over 6 (-120)
The Canadiens come into Tuesday’s game against the Lightning riding a 5-game winning streak, and they are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games. The Lightning are on a 2-game winning streak, and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. These 2 teams are both ranked inside the top-5 in the NHL for offense, which means we could have a high-scoring game on our hands. The Canadiens are ranked 3rd in the NHL averaging 3.51 goals per game, while the Lightning are 2nd averaging 3.60 goals per game. Both teams possess some elite goal scoring talent, highlighted by the likes of Cole Caufield for the Canadiens and Nikita Kucherov on the Lightning.
The Canadiens are a below average defensive team in the NHL. They are ranked 21st in the league allowing 3.12 goals against per game. Given the high-flying offense at both ends of the ice and the sub-par defensive game from the Canadiens, I think we are in for a high-scoring game. Look to the over in this one.
NHL best bet: Flyers ML over Capitals (+120)
The Flyers have been on absolute fire as of late. They are on a 3-game winning streak, have won 6 of their last 7, and are a great 12-3-1 in their last 16 games. Other than being without a few small depth pieces due to injury, the Flyers are fully-staffed and ready to go for this matchup against the Capitals.
The Capitals will be without Aliaksei Protas, who has 23 goals and 47 points on the year. Washington is a veteran team on home ice, but they are well outside the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference and have little to motivate them as the season comes to a close. It is clear that the Flyers are rolling, and I will continue to ride that momentum until they give me reason to fade. With odds of +110, the Flyers are worth backing in this road matchup in the nation’s capital.
