The Seattle Kraken have been such a great story in this postseason. But the Stars are as ready to put an end to it as the Kraken are to extend it. The Stars’ second round vs the Kraken has played out eerily similar to their first round against the Wild. Game 1 overtime loss, Game 2 win, ugly Game 3 loss, Game 4 routing win, Game 5 routing win. If they continue to repeat trends, they will wrap up the series Saturday with another convincing win. They have the top-end talent, pedigree, and depth to do so.

If you’re looking to have some action on this game, check out our Stars vs Kraken Same Game Parlay below. You can also read our NHL picks for all the playoff action.

Stars -1.5 (+155)

The Stars are now 7-4 this postseason entering this clinching game. In their 7 wins, they have won 6 of those games by multiple goals. Dallas has a +9-goal differential overall in this playoffs. But they have really taken care of business in games they win. Their goal differential in wins is +19. That is an average win by 2.71 goals. When the Stars win, there is a good chance they win big.

Both Dallas and Seattle were solid against the spread (ATS) this season. But to replicate this game, the Stars were better on the road than the Kraken were at home in terms of record ATS. Against the spread, Dallas was 29-17 on the road and Seattle was 24-22 at home. The Stars have a great mix of seasoned veterans, depth, and top-end talent. They are responsible on both sides of the puck as evident by their strong league rankings in several metrics offensively and defensively. They will come out buzzing to wrap up this series and get extra rest going into the Conference Finals.

Both teams over 1.5 goals (-180)

Sure, this is not exactly going out on a limb. But it is a good add to the odds of this Same Game Parlay given that both teams are likely to score at least 2 goals. The Stars have been held to 1 goal in just 1 of their 11 games played in the playoffs. The Kraken have been held to 1 goal just once as well in their 12 games played this postseason. If any team were held to under 2 goals, it would be an outlier.

The Stars and Kraken ranked 7 and 4 in the NHL respectively in goals scored per game during the regular season. Among the 16 teams that entered the playoffs, Dallas and Seattle are 2 and 4 in goals scored per game in the playoffs including ranked 4 and 1 in goals scored 5 on 5. Their game totals in this series have averaged 8.40 goals. This pick should be all but a formality.

Roope Hintz anytime goalscorer (+130)

Jason Robertson was the team MVP of the regular season. Not sure there is an argument to be had. But in the playoffs, the Stars have gone as Roope Hintz has gone. Hintz has been a major difference-maker. He leads the team in goals with 8, in assists with 10, and points with 18. For any offense that the Stars generate, there is a good chance a chunk of it goes through Hintz.

The plus odds feel like a steal for this pick given that he has the second-lowest odds of any player in this game to score. Unless this game finishes 1-0 Dallas with Jason Robertson scoring, Hintz is the next most likely to score in the game according to Vegas. If he is the second-most likely player of 36 suited up to score, then this +130 is a great value.
