We have an absolutely loaded slate of college football action ahead of us this weekend, and the action kicks off on Saturday with a matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Illinois Fighting Illini from Champaign. Ohio State Buckeyes -14 over Illinois Fighting Illini (-110)
While this is a game that traditionally has the makings of a tricky spot for Ohio State on the road, I’ve been extremely impressed with how the Buckeyes have handled their business to this point. After all, I faded the Buckeyes against Washington in Seattle, and that is a much more difficult place to play (and was a much tougher spot) than what they’ll be facing in Champaign on Saturday. Additionally, the Buckeyes offense appears to be figuring things out after posting over 40 points last week on a solid Minnesota defense, and the matchup against a banged up Illinois secondary is one that Julian Sayin and Ohio State should exploit. Despite the early start time on the road, this is an obvious mismatch in a game that should be controlled by the visitors from start to finish.

Under 50.5 (-110)
Regardless of which team wins this game, the under is my preferred look on the total. For starters, the Ohio State defense might be the singularly best unit of any in the country, and it should bottle up an Illinois offense that looked lost against the only defense its really played with a pulse all season in Indiana. The Buckeyes defensive line is elite and I have major concerns with what the Illini are going to be able to do on the offensive line. Don’t expect much success on the ground from Illinois, and I could certainly see the Buckeyes doing what they did to Washington’s potent offense a few weeks back. This should be a game where Ohio State gets ahead early and focuses on grinding out the game in the second half, so we’ll take the under in this one.

Carnell Tate over 64.5 receiving yards (-112)
To close out our Same Game Parlay for this weekend’s matchup, let’s focus on Carnell Tate to exceed his receiving yards prop. As previously mentioned, the Illinois secondary is not one that should offer much resistance to the Ohio State passing attack, especially considering what we saw from the Illini against USC and Indiana in recent weeks. In steps Carnell Tate, who should benefit from Illinois honing in on slowing down Jeremiah Smith. Tate has established a really solid rapport with Sayin, as he’s racked up 4 touchdowns and over 400 receiving yards to this point. The third year receiver has cleared this prop in 3 of the last 4 games, and we can trust that his workload will remain high in a favorable matchup on Saturday.
