We have an absolutely loaded slate of college football action ahead of us this weekend, and one of the biggest games on Saturday’s slate features a matchup between the Ole Miss Rebels and Oklahoma Sooners from Athens. This is a matchup between a couple of teams in the SEC that are looking to make a massive statement on a national stage. What side will come out on top in this one? It’s almost time to find out. This is a difficult spot for Ole Miss, with the Rebels coming off a tough loss to Georgia in Athens, a game in which they led in the second half. Now, the Rebels will have to play an Oklahoma team that has gotten a lot healthier on offense of late and should be in position to succeed against an Ole Miss defense that is 76th in Early Downs EPA on the year. John Mateer should be close to fully healthy at this point, and we can expect him to get plenty of action on the ground as well, especially since Ole Miss has the worst run defense in the nation. Oklahoma should be able to wear down Ole Miss on both lines of scrimmage in this one, so let’s back the hosts to keep rolling on Saturday.

Regardless of which team wins this game, the over is my preferred look on the total. Oklahoma’s offense is in a great position to succeed against an Ole Miss defense that have been significantly worse than what we saw from them a year ago. There should also be more urgency with this Sooners offense now that Mateer is healthy, especially since Oklahoma should be scoring plenty of times against a Rebels stop unit that has struggled mightily defending the run this season. On the other side, Ole Miss should play with tempo an while Oklahoma boasts an outstanding defense, Kiffin and the Rebels can still be counted on to put up 20-24 points in this one. This is a game where the Sooners offense should break out, so let’s target the over in Norman.

Trinidad Chambliss under 34.5 rushing yards (-114)
To close out our Same Game Parlay for this weekend’s matchup, let’s focus on Trinidad Chambliss to go under his rushing yards prop. As previously mentioned, the Oklahoma defense is one of the best in the nation, particularly when it comes to stopping the run. The Sooners are first in the nation in success rate allowed, along with ranking as the top team nationally in rushing success rate allowed and EPA per rush. This is a defensive line that should be able to get consistent pressure on a middling Ole Miss offensive line and if the Sooners are able to come up with some sacks in this contest, that should set back Chambliss in the rushing yards department as well. This prop pairs nicely with the Sooners to win and cover the spread, so let’s add it to our SGP for some additional value.
