The most interesting part of this Thursday Night Football game is that the Bears’ draft stock is somehow impacted regardless of the outcome. As owners of the Panthers’ first-round pick, defeating them makes the pick more attractive. However, winning hurts their own pick. None of that matters as both teams are still trying to win in primetime.

It’s tough to decipher what Matt Eberflus was saying this week in his press conference, but all signs point to Justin Fields being doubtful/out. Bryce Young has failed to live up to his lofty expectations as the #1 overall pick and CJ Stroud’s performance has only compounded the disappointment. This is a tough game to handicap, as I’d like to lean on unders for this matchup — but the totals are so low that someone is bound to break out.

Let’s look at the best player props for Thursday night.

Darnell Mooney, WR, CHI Over 27.5 receiving yards (-114)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Carolina’s defense is banged up across the board. Injuries to EDGE Brian Burns and CB CJ Henderson will give Tyson Bagent the opportunity to make big plays on Thursday night. Those big plays should find themselves in the hands of Darnell Mooney, who has hit this line in all 3 of Bagent’s starts. Mooney has hit this in 6 of 8 this season (excluding the one game he only played 28% of the snaps). This line is 29.5 on other books, so at 27.5 we are getting a steal. 1U.

Bryce Young, QB, CAR Over 21.5 completions (-125)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Chicago’s defense actually performs well against the run and against wide receivers, but it has been gashed by TEs and RBs. I take that as a great opportunity for Young to pick up easy completions and this line is one that he has hit in 6 of 7 games this season. Chicago ranks 27th in the NFL in opponent completions per game with 25.7. I would expect Chuba Hubbard and Hayden Hurst to be the recipients of these easy throws so pivoting to their reception total is another angle, but I’m going to play it safe and take this line for 1.25U.

Tommy Tremble, TE, CAR 2+ receptions (+140)

Line available at Bet365  Sportsbook at time of publishing

This is a Bet365 special so if you do not have the book, do not feel bad. Tremble has hit this in 3 straight games and the Chicago matchup lends itself to another big spot for tight ends in this Carolina offense. Hurst will likely be the big draw this Thursday for player props, but I tend to run in the opposite direction as the crowd. At +140 we are getting great value and worth 1U sprinkle. I’ll be playing small amounts on his ladder all the way up. DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault and Stephen Sullivan are all sidelined to Tremble moves up the pecking order coming off 3 straight games of 40%+ snap share.
