Sunderland and Newcastle are separated by just a few miles and the raucous atmosphere should be matched by a great game at the Stadium of Light. The home team has defied expectation by having a solid start to the campaign after gaining promotion last season, and while the Black Cats have won just 1 of their last 6 games, they have had a tough schedule with games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Wearsiders remain unbeaten in 7 home games, but there should be plenty of goals in this one as visitors Newcastle hope to build on the 4-1 win that was posted against Everton in their last road match-up. The Magpies drew 2-2 with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Wednesday, and their last 8 league matches have also featured goals for both sides and over 2.5 successful strikes.
EPL Best Bet: Brentford ML over Leeds (+100)
Brentford has lost its last 4 matches, but Manchester City is the only visiting team to have won at the Gtech Community Stadium this season and that does not bode well for Leeds’ visit to west London. The Bees have beaten Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United on their own patch and should have too much for their Yorkshire opponents.
Leeds were boosted by a win over Chelsea and a draw with Liverpool in their last 2 matches, but the only road game from which they have earned anything came at bottom-of-the-table Wolves, so expect a home victory.
