Week 9 of the 2025 NFL regular season is upon us, and it is highlighted in part by a Sunday Night Football showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. It is yet another primetime game for Washington following its loss against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football to close out Week 8, and it will be the third of the season for a Seahawks team that has quietly been one of the best teams in the NFC to this point. Here are my best TD scorer bets for SNF, and also be sure to check out our full Seahawks vs Commanders predictions.
Seahawks anytime touchdown scorer best bet: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (-110)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Regardless of competition, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is playing like an All-Pro this season, and he could potentially even putting his name into the Offensive Player of the Year conversation given recent weeks. The Seahawks top wide receiver has been stellar all season long, particularly over the last 5 games, in which the Ohio State product tallied nearly 600 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in that span. We can expect his connection with Sam Darnold to be strong once again on Sunday, especially since this is a favorable matchup against a beleaguered Washington pass defense. While I usually target my touchdown scorer best bets on plus-odds, I can’t ignore how good Smith-Njigba has been lately.
Commanders anytime touchdown scorer best bet: Jacory Croskey-Merritt (+145)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
On the Washington side of things, the Commanders offense has been stifled in recent weeks without Jayden Daniels at the controls. However, with Daniels back in the fold this week, there should be avenues for Washington to see success on the ground and through the air. That’s where Jacory Croskey-Merritt comes in, as the versatile Commanders running back has 4 touchdowns on the season while averaging 5 yards per carry in the process. Croskey-Merritt can also catch passes out of the backfield, which could come into play against a Seattle defense that has been much weaker against the pass (19th in passing success rate) than the run to this point. Look for Croskey-Merrit to find the end zone for the third time in the last 5 games.
