A rivalry known as the “Third Saturday in October” will have another chapter written in its history on Saturday when the Tennessee Volunteers play the Alabama Crimson Tide under the lights of Bryant-Denny Stadium at 7:30 pm ET on ABC. The Vols are 5-1, as are the Tide – who have won 5 in a row following that embarrassing Week 1 performance at Florida State.

Ahead of this massive SEC rivalry showdown, I put together a Tennessee vs Alabama Same Game Parlay with +395 odds. Here are my parlay picks for Saturday night’s contest, but don’t forget to check out our NCAAF predictions and CFB best bets for the rest of this loaded Week 8 college football slate.

Under 59.5 (-115)

Isaiah Horton (ALA) anytime touchdown (+130)

Tennessee Volunteers vs Alabama Crimson Tide Under 59.5 (-115)

I wrote this up in my full Tennessee vs Alabama prediction at 58.5 and will happily play against the market and accept the extra point of wiggle room for our Same Game Parlay. While both of these offenses can be explosive, Alabama’s methodical approach should suppress scoring in this one. The Crimson Tide have put together multiple 6+ minute drives in almost every game to this point, with some drives even lasting over 9 minutes. Those seemingly unending possessions severely cap the scoring upside of this contest, even if the Vols defense is suspect against the pass. What also suppresses scoring is a legitimate red-zone defense, which Alabama has. In fact, the Tide have only surrendered 12 red-zone trips in 6 games.

Isaiah Horton (ALA) anytime touchdown (+130)

Isaiah Horton is the big-bodied possession guy in Alabama’s offense. Standing at 6’4”, he has a size advantage over everyone in Tennessee’s secondary, and after being targeted just once in the season opener against FSU, quarterback Ty Simpson has started to trust him more as the season has gone on. He should make the most of his targets against this leaky Tennessee secondary, a unit that is 97th in PPA per pass and 108th on passing downs PPA – in addition to 72nd in passing touchdowns surrendered.

For what it’s worth, Horton is from the Nashville area — and while Vanderbilt is in the Music City, it is full of Tennessee fans. Tennessee was also very much part of Horton’s recruiting process before he ultimately committed to Miami. While I’m certainly speculating, there may be some added motivation to score on the Vols because of that.
