Texas A&M Aggies -2.5 over Texas Longhorns (-110)
While Texas A&M played with its food in its last SEC clash against South Carolina, I don’t expect the same outcome on Friday in a spot where the Aggies should be motivated to exact a bit of revenge on their hated rivals following a disappointing showing in this exact same game a season ago. The Aggies should be able to win this game with offense, as Marcel Reed and company are one of the top 10-20 units in the nation in terms of EPA per play, success rate and points per drive. On the other side of the ball, Texas A&M’s defense is an extremely aggressive unit that should have the ability to fluster Arch Manning and put the young quarterback under a lot of pressure throughout this contest. It’s hard to ignore laying the short number with the better team in this spot.

Conventional wisdom would suggest that backing the over in a game with the Texas A&M offense is the salient play, but we’re more inclined to look toward the under now that it’s over the key number of 51. As previously mentioned, the Aggies defense is an extremely aggressive unit, one that should be able to get after a Longhorns offensive line that is just 92nd in tackles for loss allowed and 78th in sacks allowed on the season. Given the fact that Texas cant run the ball all that well either, it’s hard to see how the Longhorns will generate consistent success on this Texas A&M defense. On the other side, Texas is still a solid defense and is playing at home, so I don’t see the Aggies scoring 35+ points on Friday. Let’s roll with the under.

Concepcion has been a force within this Aggies offense all season long, and his excellence in the red zone should continue against a Texas defense that while talented and strong on the outside, can be had by opposing slot receivers, which is where Concepcion happens to line up most of the time. With touchdowns in 4 of the last 5 games, he certainly has the pedigree and recent form heading into this rivalry matchup.
