We have reached the conference championship which means two games are on the slate. Let’s breakdown my five bold Predictions For The 2019 NFL Conference Games.

Patriots are held under 17 points

There has been a lot of talks all season about how bad the Kansas City Chiefs defense is, and how the offense was doing all the carrying. That statement is partially true but this is a team that actually really steps up to the occasion at home. On the season they are giving up 17.4 points per game at Arrowhead Stadium and the Patriots offense isn’t great away from home averaging only 21.4 points per game.

The Patriots offense isn’t going to run up the score like they did against the Chargers and  I think the Chiefs will jump out to a big lead in this game, which will allow them to bring the blitz and make life tough for Tom Brady and company. Look for them to score less than 17 points in this one.

CJ Anderson outrushes Todd Gurley

This might not actually be that bold of a prediction but right now the best running back in for the Los Angeles Rams is CJ Anderson. Against the Cowboys he rushed 23 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Todd Gurley meanwhile had rushed 16 times for 115 yards and a touchdown.

It is quite the one two punch and both guys are going to have to be good against the Saints but I think that Anderson will get more touches in this game, and will have a lot of success doing so.

Rams and Saints combine for at least 80 points…again

The first time the Rams and the Saints faced off this year it was a shootout with the Saints with the home team coming out ahead 45-35. These are both teams who have had really good offenses this year and together they combine to average 63.6. Whoever gets the opening kickoff is going to start the scoring and both defenses aren’t going to have any success slowing the other down.

Patrick Mahomes throws for 300 yards and three touchdowns

All season long in Kansas City it’s been the Patrick Mahomes show and I don’t think that will be any different on Sunday. His yardage totals haven’t been as impressive the last few weeks but he is still making all the right throws.

On Sunday I think he and Tyreek Hill will be clicking on the deep pass and he is going to have all kinds of success throwing for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Gronkowski plays his last game on Sunday

This is more of an offseason prediction but when the Patriots are eliminated by the Chiefs on Sunday I think it will be the last time we see Rob Gronkowski on the NFL field.

He has looked like a shell of himself this season and has dealt with injuries all of his career. I think it’s time that he hangs up the cleats and calls it quits. It’s been quite the career now he will have more time to work on his dancing.
