We are closing in on the biggest game in Sports with the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams ready to battle. Both of these teams came into championship weekend as the underdogs, but both were able to pull off the big upsets to reach this game. There is no doubt going to be some surprises during the Super Bowl that will shock many people. Let’s breakdown five bold predictions for the 2019 Super Bowl.

Johnny Hekker will have a huge impact on the game, and not because of his punting

Johnny Hekker is one of the best punters in the league but he is also a big threat passing the ball and Sean McVay has used that time and time again. McVay has proven to be an aggressive coach and likes to take big risks to win a lot of games, and Hekker has been a huge part of that success.

I think in this game the Rams will pull off a big fake point at a crucial time with Hekker throwing another perfect pass for a big first down.

Patriots get shut out in the second half

Against the Chiefs, the New England Patriots got out to a fast start but really struggled in the second half and let the Chiefs back in the game. The Chiefs made adjustments at halftime and the Patriots had trouble adjusting back and I think that will be the case in the Super Bowl.

I think Tom Brady and the Patriots will struggle in the second half and they will actually be shutout in this game.

Todd Gurley has over 175 total yards

Todd Gurley didn’t get a lot of run in the NFC Championship game but in the Super Bowl, with an extra week of rest he is going to be ready to go.

I think he will be a huge threat, especially catching the ball out of the backfield and he will run wild on the Patriots. Look for him to eclipse the 175 yard mark easily.

Julian Edelman and James White Combine for 20 catches

Julian Edelman and James White have been huge threats out of the backfield all year, and that will be the case in this game. Against the Chiefs Edelman had seven catches and against the Chargers, he had nine catches and he should go well over that in this game.

For White against the Chargers he had 15 receptions and I think they will go back to that game-plan in this game for success.

Tom Brady doesn’t have a pass longer than 25 yards

Tom Brady and the Patriots have employed the dink and dump to success and I think they will try to continue to use that strategy in this game. I don’t expect the Patriots to try and throw it deep in this game and that is going to keep his longest pass down. Look for his longest pass to be under 25 yards although I still think they will have some success using that strategy.
