The Seattle Mariners have jumped out to a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. Now returning home, Seattle will look to grab another win in Game 3 and force the Blue Jays to the brink of elimination. This article covers the 1st inning preview, predictions, and betting odds for Game 3, so let’s dive in!

YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Blue Jays vs Mariners – NRFI (-140)

Odds available at DraftKings sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -145 odds.

We have seen the YRFI hit in both games of the ALCS between Toronto and Seattle so far. Game 1 saw Toronto jump out to an early 1-0 lead and Game 2 saw the Mariners lead 3-2 after a single frame. That being said, I do lean towards the NRFI in Game 3 of this series given current pricing. With this game played in Seattle tonight the posted total for the 9 innings of play sits at just 7. George Kirby is the scheduled starter for the Mariners, and the right-hander will look to take advantage of pitching in his home park. Kirby was far better when at home during the regular season, and he enters in good form with 10 innings of 3-run ball in the ALDS vs Detroit. The Blue Jays have not faced Kirby this season and that lack of familiarity should help the pitcher early on.

Shane Bieber is the starter for the Blue Jays as they look to fend off a 3-0 series deficit. Bieber was acquired at the trade deadline in hopes that his acquisition would bolster their starting rotation. The veteran right-hander gave them 40.1 regular season innings following the trade with a 3.57 ERA to show for it. He has just 2.2 postseason innings under his belt so far, allowing 3 total runs to the Yankees, but I still trust his veteran presence on the mound. Bieber should be focused and fired up for the opportunity to make this start, and I expect him to locate well in the 1st inning Wednesday evening. The Mariners also went without seeing Bieber during the regular season and that should work to his advantage. Given current pricing I side with the NRFI in this matchup.
