The proverbial second week of Wimbledon gets underway on Sunday, when spots in the quarterfinals are handed out. Fourth-round action includes Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Andrey Rublev, Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova.
Let’s take a look at the Wimbledon best bets to be made on the Day 7 schedule.
Parlay: Amanda Anisimova ML over Linda Noskova (-140)
Anisimova is sporting a 9-2 record on grass so far this summer. That includes a run to the Queen’s Club title match. Yes, she got upset by Tatjana Maria in that final – but Maria sliced and diced her way past Anisimova in what that Noskova will not. The Czech plays a similar style to that of Anisimova, and it’s hard – very hard – to beat the American at her own game. Noskova is coming off a 3-set match against Eva Lys in round 2 followed by a 7-6(6), 7-5 decision against Kamilla Rakhimova. At Queen’s Club, Anisimova beat Sony Kartal, Emma Navarro and Naomi Osaka; her path at Wimbledon so far has included a 6-0, 6-0 beatdown of Yulia Putintseva.
Sony Kartal ML over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (+100)
As a Brit, Kartal always enjoys significant crowd support at the All-England Club. As the last British woman left standing, the fans will be especially behind her on Sunday. Of course, it’s not as if Kartal needs any help; she is playing great in her own right. Since splitting sets with Jelena Ostapenko in the opening round, Kartal has been on fire. She dominated her third set against Ostapenko 6-2, thrashed Viktoriya Tomova 6-2, 6-2 in the second round and crushed Diane Parry 6-4, 6-2 on Friday. This is not Kartal’s first rodeo at Wimbledon, either. She advanced to the last 32 as a qualifier in 2024 before falling to Coco Gauff, so she knows what she is doing on the big stage. It’s also worth noting that Pavlyuchenkova played a pair of 3-setters in addition to a tough 2-setter during the first week of these Championships.
Nicolas Jarry ML over Cameron Norrie (+110)
Jarry did not come into Wimbledon with much confidence, but that’s why playing in qualifying can be a good thing. Since winning 3 matches to earn his place in the main draw, Jarry has been off to the races. He came back from 2 sets down to upset Holger Rune and in the last 2 rounds against Learner Tien and Joao Fonseca dropped a total of just 1 set. Norrie is also in good form, but the bottom line is that this match is on Jarry’s racket. Whereas the British lefty is a counter-puncher without any real offensive weapons, the 6’7’’ Chilean is one of the biggest hitters on tour. Jarry blasted 39 aces in 7 qualifying sets and through 3 main-draw matches he has struck 154 winners (including 65 aces). Norrie will be at his mercy.
