Second-round action at Wimbledon gets underway on Wednesday following what was an absolutely chaotic opening round. There were upsets all over the place in both the men’s and women’s seeds, so now the top players – or at least the remaining ones – will try to restore order to the proceedings. Carlos Alcaraz, who survived a major scare in his opening match by beating Fabio Fognini in 5 sets, is among those taking the court. He is joined on the schedule by Taylor Fritz, Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys. Let’s take a look at the Wimbledon best bets to be made on the Day 3 schedule, and you can also find out my Wimbledon men’s singles predictions and Wimbledon women’s singles picks, which include longshots at +10000 and +5000 odds!

Wimbledon Parlay: Adrian Mannarino ML over Valentin Royer and Taylor Fritz ML over Gabriel Diallo (-103)

Adrian Mannarino has always been a borderline grass-court specialist. The veteran Frenchman is up to his usual tricks on this surface so far in London. Through 4 matches (3 in qualifying), he has lost only 1 set and no set has been more competitive than 6-4. Valentin Royer is a little-known opponent who got a retirement from an injured Stefanos Tsitsipas in round 1.

Speaking of grass-court masters like Mannarino, Taylor Fritz has become one. The American just captured his 4th Eastbourne title and he is a 2-time Wimbledon quarterfinalist. Fritz faced the most dangerous unseeded player in the entire draw in the first round and managed to defeat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in 5 sets. Gabriel Diallo is dangerous, but he isn’t as dangerous as Mpetshi Perricard.

Wimbledon prediction: Jordan Thompson +1.5 sets over Benjamin Bonzi (-126)

Benjamin Bonzi is coming off 1 of the biggest victories of his life, having stunned Daniil Medvedev in the opening round. I have no confidence in the Frenchman coming up with something similar 1 round later. Bonzi had been in unspectacular form heading into Wimbledon, taking an especially bad loss to Brandon Holt in Mallorca. Jordan Thompson needing 5 sets against Vit Kopriva wasn’t great, but the last 3 were encouraging after the veteran Aussie dropped the first 2. With an incredible 69 match victories on grass throughout his career, Thompson is extremely confident on green stuff. Asking him to simply take 2 sets against Bonzi should not be too much. He might even win it outright.

Wimbledon best bet: Ethan Quinn ML over Kamil Majchrzak (-130)

Ethan Quinn is 4-2 on grass this summer. The 21-year-old American has already soared into the top 100 and is into the top 80 in the live rankings, so he should be an even bigger favorite in this contest. Majchraz, who is ranked outside the top 100, faced Matteo Berrettini in round 1. Berrettini can be awesome when healthy, but he is nowhere close to that right now. It’s actually a bit surprising that Majchrzak needed 5 sets to advance. The Pole had previously been on a whopping 7-match losing streak, so there is no reason to have any confidence in him.
