First-round competition at Wimbledon continues on Tuesday, and now it is the defending women’s singles champion who gets thing started on Centre Court after Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed that honor – again – on Day 1. Barbora Krejcikova, a surprise winner in 2024, has a tough opener on her hands against a red-hot Alexandra Eala. Also taking the court are Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
Let’s take a look at the Wimbledon best bets to be made on the Day 2 schedule, and you can also find out my Wimbledon men’s singles predictions and Wimbledon women’s singles picks, which include longshots at +10000 and +5000 odds!
Parlay: Lorenzo Sonego ML over Jaime Faria and Arthur Cazaux ML over Adam Walton (-103)
Both Faria and Walton are great fade candidates. Faria had never won a match in his career on grass prior to 2025, and he lost to Shintaro Mochizuki 6-2, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Nottingham Challenger. Walton is 5-9 lifetime on grass, including 1-4 this season. He just lost to Brandon Holt in the first round of Mallorca qualifying. Sonego and Cazaux should be more than capable of taking advantage. Sonego has had plenty of success on grass throughout his career, while Cazaux qualifier for Wimbledon in routine fashion.
Nina Stojanovic +4.5 games over Anna Kalinskaya (-120)
Kalinskaya has not won a match since May 21. She has played only one match on grass this summer and suffered a bad loss to Ella Seidel in Berlin. Stojanovic qualified for the main draw, so she heads into this week with plenty of confidence. I have Stojanovic winning this one, but especially on grass–when margins are smaller than they are on other surfaces–she should at least be able to cover this spread.
Alexandra Eala ML over Barbora Krejcikova (-110)
In 2024, defending Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova lost her opening match to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. Lightning could very well strike twice in a row on Centre Court, and this would not even be an upset. Krejcikova is just 2-1 on grass this summer and struggled through three-setters against unspectacular competition in Eastbourne before pulling out of the tournament. Eala came within one point of lifting the trophy at that same tournament this past Saturday.
