Best MLB Postseason Futures Bet: Los Angeles Dodgers to win the 2025 World Series (+550)

I was always told that patience is a virtue, and that can apply to betting as well. The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the 2025 season following a championship run and another successful offseason where they added even more talent to their already historic roster. They were priced around +300 in the market to repeat as champions at that time, and I found it hard to see value in that price. Given the nature of their pitching staff’s makeup, and the aging of some core members in their lineup, I figured it might be worth waiting it out for a possible better price down the road. Los Angeles certainly had a successful regular season, winning the NL West with a 93-69 record. They did not earn a top 2 seed in the National League, however, and as a result, they must play in the Wild Card Series against the Cincinnati Reds.
Due to playing an extra round, the Dodgers are no longer the favorites to win the World Series, falling behind Philadelphia (+450) and being tied with the Mariners (+550) on FanDuel Sportsbook. I think this is a quality time to pounce on the Dodgers, as I still believe they have the most talented roster in baseball. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani with supplementary pieces around them is an elite pitching staff ready to mow down opposing lineups in October. Their lineup is equally as fierce, and I see them as clear favorites over Cincinnati in their Wild Card Series. The Phillies present a tough challenge for any team, but at these odds, I find Los Angeles to be the best value on the board when it comes to picking the winner.

Best MLB Postseason Futures Bet: Los Angeles Dodgers to beat Seattle Mariners in 2025 World Series (+2200)

For a much smaller wager, we might as well try and extract some extra value from our stance on the Dodgers by predicting the team they will defeat in the World Series. During spring training over the last 2 seasons, I predicted that the Seattle Mariners would win the World Series at long odds. They missed the postseason both years despite elite pitching production, but this year their offense has provided that pitching staff with better run support.
The Mariners received a record-setting season from Cal Raleigh, who will end in a top 2 MVP finish in the American League this season. They weren’t content with just his power in the lineup, however, and acquired both Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez from the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline. Julio Rodriguez ended the season with another very impressive stat line, and this Mariner team seems poised to turn a corner this postseason.
Seattle will benefit from a bye during the Wild Card Series as they await the winner of the Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians series. Avoiding the Red Sox and Yankees is another win for the Mariners, in my opinion, as the Tigers and Guardians may present more favorable matchups for Seattle. The Mariners have the shortest odds of any American League team to win the World Series, and that make sense to me as I see them as the favorites to matchup with the National League finalist. Other sportsbooks have this priced at +1300 or so, leading to some relative value in the market at FanDuel. I wouldn’t go crazy with my bet size on a wager like this, but do believe it is worth a sprinkle.
