Flames vs Panthers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Puck Line Pick
FLA Panthers -1.5(+140)

The Calgary Flames continue their road trip with a stop in Sunrise to take on the Panthers. Calgary has been able to string together some wins in their last five games, but this is still a below-average hockey team that can’t score goals. Their defence is also mediocre, so there aren’t a ton of positives to take away. They’ve gotten some good goaltending out of backup Devin Cooley, but he’s going to come back down to earth at some point, and it won’t be pretty.

Florida has been a very streaky team this season. At times, they are dominant from start to finish, but they also sometimes play really poorly defensively and give up too many goals. There is a healthy medium, but you don’t know what team is going to show up on any given night. The good news is, when they do come out and play the right way, they win hockey games, and by a wide margin. They’ve scored 8 goals in two of their last five games, and considering how poorly the Flames are offensively, if they get out to an early lead, they can just keep grinding away and never look back. We’ll take a slight lean on them to cover the Puck Line and rebound from their lackluster performance against the Flyers.

Flames vs Panthers: Florida Panthers -1.5 (+140) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number or better.
