Avalanche vs Sabres Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Colorado Avalanche will be looking to continue the good start to their season against the winless Buffalo Sabres. The Avalanche are not the team you want to see coming into your building when you are seeking your first win. Led by Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, this team is stacked offensively. They are averaging 3.33 goals per game so far this season. The Sabres as a team have only managed to score one goal in their first two games. These two teams met twice last season, and the Avalanche won both meetings. I am expecting a similar outcome on Monday. Aside from Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch, the Sabres do not have many offensive threats. I do not see them keeping up with the scoring of the Avalanche, especially given their weak defensive game that should give the Avalanche many scoring chances.
The duo of Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas is off to a very good start. Through their first three games, they have a combined 12 points. Expect them to factor into the scoring for the Avalanche. Until the Sabres give me a reason not to pick against them, I won’t be. The Avs should be leading this game late into the third period, bringing in the chance for an empty net goal if needed. Give me the Avalanche on the puck line.
