Puck Line Pick
COL Avalanche Win -1.5(+180)

The Colorado Avalanche are travelling to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes for the second time this season. Carolina accomplished something that few teams have managed: they beat the Avalanche in their home arena. While it took overtime to secure the victory, a win is a win. Although Colorado is not as dominant on the road, it remains one of the best teams in the league by a considerable margin and should not be underestimated.

The Hurricanes are coming off a 7-5 loss to the Canadiens and have surrendered a total of 12 goals over their last two games. Brandon Bussi struggled in his recent outing, but overall, he has impressive statistics. There’s a possibility he may get another start, but Carolina might choose to give Frederik Andersen a chance, which could prove to be a mistake. The veteran goaltender has a record of 5-9-2, with a 3.38 goals-against average (GAA) and an .865 save percentage. These numbers are quite poor, and facing the hottest team in the NHL could lead to a disappointing outcome for him. I’ll evaluate this bet assuming he doesn’t start, but that alone isn’t enough to deter us from the Puck Line.

Avalanche vs Hurricanes Prediction: Avalanche -1.5 (+140) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number or better.
