Avalanche vs Devils Pickswise Expert Predictions

Colorado Avalanche
Puck Line Pick
NJ Devils -1.5(+195)

The Colorado travel to New Jersey to take on the Devils for the first time this season. This will be their second game in as many days, and they hope to end their three-game losing streak. Despite the loss, they are 3-1-1 on the road and have a dynamic offence, averaging nearly 35 shots on goal per game. The Avalanche are an excellent hockey team, but the task at hand today, on short rest, may be too much for them to handle.

New Jersey is 4-0-0 at home this year and 7-1-0 on the season. They are also one of the highest scoring teams in the league, averaging 3.88 a game. The reason for the offensive explosion is due to their power play, which is clicking at 32%. Let’s not forget their penalty kill, which has allowed just two goals. New Jersey has now covered the Puck Line in their last five games, and some of those matches weren’t easy. Colorado may elect to give Scott Wedgewood a night off, meaning Trent Mier would get the start. He was good in relief, but his overall numbers for his career are nothing to write home about. We’ll take a small lean on the Devils to continue their winning ways.

Avalanche vs Devils prediction: New Jersey Devils -1.5 (+195) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number or better.
