After picking up a 6-1 win over the Canucks on Monday night, the Stars head to Calgary for a Tuesday night matchup against the Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome. With Mikko Rantanen sidelined with a lower body injury, Dallas got great depth scoring on Monday with a pair of goals from Lian Bichsel, as well as goals from Adam Erne and Colin Blackwell. That kind of production is great to see if you’re a Stars fan, but it’s tough to expect those results on a night-in night-out basis. Along with Rantanen being out, Roope Hintz is also questionable for this matchup with an illness. With that in mind, it would be a bit surprising to see the Stars put up another monster offensive night in this one, especially when playing on the second half of a road back-to-back.

On the other side, the Flames have been among the lowest-scoring teams in the NHL all season long. They rank 31st in the league scoring 2.47 goals per game, and their power play percentage of 16.4% ranks 27th. Calgary’s leading scorer is veteran forward Nazem Kadri, who has 41 points in 59 games. Dallas is a tough defensive team to play against, and Calgary may have some issues getting things going in the offensive zone. When these teams met earlier this season back in November, a total of 5 goals were scored with just 4 coming in regulation time. I am expecting a similar result this time around.

Stars vs Flames prediction: Under 5.5 (+105) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
