Edmonton is off to another relatively slow start under head coach Kris Knoblauch, which has been a theme during his tenure. However, it appears that the Oilers are starting to get rolling, and it helps that Zach Hyman is back in the mix. Hyman missed the first 19 games of the season with a wrist injury, but is now back on Edmonton’s top line and top power play alongside Connor McDavid. He picked up an assist and dished out a whopping 11 hits in his first game of the season against Carolina on Saturday, and figures to provide a boost to the Oilers in this one.

On the other side, the Buffalo Sabres returns home from a 4-game road trip in which they were thoroughly outplayed. Buffalo went 1-3-0 on the trip, with the lone win coming in comeback fashion against the Red Wings on Saturday. Buffalo was out-scored 21-13 on the trip, and needed a complete collapse from Detroit to pickup Saturday’s win. Now that the Oilers are starting to get healthier and more in a groove, this matchup presents a tough challenge for the Sabres on home ice. Back the Oilers.
