Panthers vs Sharks Pickswise Expert Predictions

Alternative Puck Line 2-Way Pick
SJ Sharks -1.5(+425)

The Florida Panthers continue their West Coast trip with a stop in San Jose to take on the Sharks. Florida has been a decent team to start the season. They have been good defensively, their offense is capable of finding the back of the net despite all the injuries and their goaltending has been solid. The only problem: all of that goes out the window on the road. They are 30th in goals on the road and 27th in goals against. With numbers like that, it’s not hard to see why they are 2-5-0 away from Sunrise.

The Sharks have won 4 of their last 5 games, including a 2-1 victory against the Winnipeg Jets less than 24 hours ago. It’s hard to trust San Jose on any given night because of how poorly defensively they are, but it’s even more challenging on a back-to-back. Yaroslav Askarov is expected to get the start, and his overall numbers have not been pretty. San Jose should not be this heavy of an underdog. Florida is horrendous on the road, and we need to at least respect that. I’m going to take a home-run swing and back San Jose to cover the alternate puck line.

Panthers vs Sharks prediction: San Jose -1.5 (+425) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
